This is not a required field however when taking delivery of your order of more than one unit we can include a note as to which room or window the covering is meant for.
Unus AbbeyCell Dimout Light Grey Caravan Blind - is a cellular or honeycomb structured fabric that offers beneficial qualities over the standard pleated type fabric on which it is based. Individual fabric cells allow for heightened thermal efficiency in colder months, solar uv light reflection in summer months and increased acoustic absorption. Light Grey coloured fabric front with a white backing.
Dimout cellular fabric enjoys all of the enhanced qualities of a honeycomb structure however it has a slight transparency which means that you will see shadow and movement in the caravan when the light is behind the fabric otherwise privacy and light control is enjoyed

Perimeter/Capping Fit - Unus, Duplus & Profile Shutters
Both ways of fitting are measured in the same manner, the decision thereafter of which fit is the best mounting option or indeed is restricted by the caravan window and surrounding characteristics.
Essentially as long as we have 30mm of panel wall available around all 4 sides of the whole of the window frame including any surround capping then we can go for a 'Perimeter Fit'. Should we not have this clearance then the attachment frame can screw directly onto the surround capping and therefore on order we need to note 'Capping Fit' in the drop down choice. When we come to manufacture your caravan blind then we will see the fitting choice that is made and create the base frame accordingly in order to sit either around or onto the window surround/capping.
Measurements required therefore (please always use a metal tape measure as opposed to a fabric tape) are the width and height of the outer edges of the window surround, usually capping. It is always wise to measure the top, middle and bottom width then likewise left height, middle height and far right height. Usually the capping corners will be the widest or tallest points as they are slightly proud of the capping extrusions. Always take the widest and tallest measurement that you find and, together with the 'Perimeter' or 'Capping' Fitting Option instruction we will manufacture the unit accordingly.
Where peripheral furniture, cupboards, tracks, pelmets etc exist then we will require a minimum of 60mm stand out space which is the overall protrusion of a Unus or Duplus when married with the base frame.
Glazing Fit - Unus, Duplus & Ease Shutters
Uniquely the Glazing Fit option integrates the blind frame to a upvc window frame (not available to touring caravan windows) without the need for screws or holes. On the main most upvc window allow for the gasket insert of the bracket however just to make sure you are welcome to ask for a sample bracket or at least sent us a picture and we can advise you what to look out for.
On top of the width and drop measurement, which is shown below, we will need a bead depth measurement to ascertain the bracket size to be sent. For the cellular, pleated voile and venetian units this depth needs to be between 18mm and 32mm and for the Ease shutters between 20mm and 24mm. This is important as the frame sits snug on the window profile and the blinds need room to operate plus rotate as with the venetian slats and shutter louvres. When in place the frame and unit only protrudes about 12mm off the window itself. You will also require around 6mm edge clearance between any handles or vents that may be present, but again a photo and sample hardware request will make sure we are okay to go.
Another thing we need to take into account is if the window has an operating handle. Although the blind will move with an opening window and door (french doors not sliding) we do find that the handles on static caravan upvc windows are quite shallow. This can interfere with the aluminium frame protrusion, however we have two work arounds when this is the case. Either we ask you to take note of the handle position - usually centred - and we will incorporate a rebate plate (pictured below) or when we have absolutely minimum to work with we can provide a spacer/shim that is fitted underneath the window handle to provide extra clearance.
All glazing fit units Unus, Duplus & Ease will require a 6mm space availability from the window handle base to the window frame inner edge in order for the blind frame to lip over and form a surrounding overlap. By all means please feel free to request a frame section sample in order to test the placement fit.
If you are not lucky enough to have the correct type of application upvc window for the Glazing Fit then fear not the Perimeter Fit will create it's own frame to fit within. Albeit the pricing is slightly higher due to the requirement of the base frame
Measuring itself is very simple, we need the width and height of the visible glass of each pane. Together with the bead depth for the bracket size to be sent. Bead depth is the distance of the glass into the window extrusion which can be measured by placing a credit card across the corner of the window and placing the tape edge onto the face of the glass.
When considering the glazing fit option we would recommend that Customers send us a picture of the window and close up of the window handle so that we can offer our assistance and advise what to look out for, before purchasing.
Standard Fit - Freehanging Roller, Day & Night, Aluminium and Faux Wood Venetian
Standard freehanging blinds are very simple to measure. All that we require is the width and drop of the reveal to which you want your blind to extend into. It depends on how much space you have available to the left and right of the window and then personal choice also plays a part. As a point of reference, obstacles permitting, the ideal would be 75mm or 3 inches either side and height - as is. We will manufacture the blind based on the sizes you give with an overall clearance of 5mm all the way around the blind, this is for fitting tolerance purposes.
When it comes to Day & Night and Roller Blinds we would point out that the fabric will be 37mm less than the overall finished width of the blind as a whole. This it due to the control and idle end plus the bracket allowances that have to be incorporated. In instances where fabric needs to be a set size to cover the window then it is a question of adding this tolerance (37mm) to the measurement submitted to us. Therefore it essential that you have the necessary clearance available to the left and right.
