An increasing percentage of new Static Caravans are incorporating woodslat venetian blinds as a standard albeit readymade where the give away is the poor recess width fitting and a large gathering of excess slat at the bottom where they have not even been trimmed to size.
As with aluminium venetian the Faux Wood Venetian Caravan Blinds add versatility of operation and certainly in the wider slat widths are aesthetically on the button. However we ourselves do not offer real wood as the confinement of the insides of a caravan with overheating (sunlight, cooking and radiator) plus the humidity (again the proximity of cooking, showers and cold dampness when not it use) will almost guarantee warpage and cracking over time.
Instead we use a faux wood which is a conditioned composition that does not react so severely with the surrounding environment, maintaining shape and structure. It is available in 50mm slat width with varying colours of grain textures or flat painted. Another option is tape or standard cord - as well as the obvious added appearance the tape covers the punched cord holes in the slat itself and therefore reduces peep holes that allow light and vision to pass through.
Plus one of the main advantages of Faux as opposed to Natural Woodslat is that they are so much lighter in weight, therefore drawing them up and down is easier and much less load bearing on the caravan panel walls.
