Fitting The Base Frame - Unus & Duplus Blinds
When you receive your Unus/Duplus made to measure caravan blinds they are packaged 'ready to hang'. We will pre-insert the 3 or 4 fixing screws (dependent on window size) into the base frame, the heads of the screws protrude at the same depth they will sink into the panel wall behind, around 22mm. We recommend that you ask someone to hold the lightweight base frame in position so that the screws can be tightened,
Once all screws are grabbing the frame against the panel wall or capping then the DIY work is done. In some instances you may find a little bit of resistance where the holes line up with a metal fixing tab behind the panel or capping extrusion. However generally these tabs tend to be soft metal probably aluminium - access to an electric screwdriver will probably be required for this purpose.
On shipping the receiving brackets are pre inserted into the sub frame, they are generally quite loose in the opening - not hard fixed - however when the main blind frame is clipped into place the integration creates a firm hold. If the brackets have fallen out during transportation or manipulation on fitting the sub frame then simply, loosely, insert the tabs into the pre formed slits of the sub frame.
Clip Fit The Caravan Blind Unit - Unus & Duplus Blinds
Simply offer the blind unit onto the securing brackets ensuring that the bracket lugs are on the outer of the frame lip so that they engage into the punched holes in the main blind frame channel.
Should you wish to remove the blind for any reason then push a flat headed screwdriver against the lugs and the spring action releases the frame unit. Once the base frame is fitted it is possible to interchange different blind types should you want at a later date.
