Day & Night Caravan Blinds consist of two striped layers, one translucent one opaque, that alternate on the length of the fabric with a return layer behind the front face which traverse across each as the blind is drawn. As two translucent layers coincide horizontally you have a field of vision and light pass that is similar to a net curtain. When the opaque layers coincide then it gives an appearance of a whole piece of fabric, the blackout panel version filters light even further.
Because of the double function that Day & Night offers it has become quite a popular blind type for caravan application in recent years, very much a roller with in between functionality. But due to the cassette housing at the head of what is otherwise a roller mechanism it does have limitations as to fitting. We need 70mm of clear projection at the heading and so any fixed pelmets need to accommodate the aluminium housing. Ideally it would be better aesthetically to remove pre existing soft or hard pelmets and let the ornate fabric inserted heading add to the overall look.
As with all of our made to measure window coverings the Day & Night is a heavy duty and made to last product and not to be compared to the ready made and cut down qualities that seem to be the default when it comes to static caravans.
